Life as a Micronaut

06 Jun

mi·cro·naut ['maɪ.kroʊ.nɔt], n, -pl. -nauts 1. a person who works for Micron Technology, Inc. esp. in Boise, ID where the term applies to a large portion of the local population. 2. an incredibly awesome person who, with the help of other micronauts, is capable of performing tasks indistinguishable from miracles. 3. a somewhat deprecating term for the hordes of Boise imports that are responsible for 90% of rush hour traffic. 4. see sugar daddy.

It's official, after eight hours of orientation, I have completed my first official (paid) day of employment at Micron. Aside from the requisite harassment-free workplace and confidentiality presentations I am very happy with my choice of employment. Even more incredible was, for an engineer-rich company, there were actual real-live females in double-digit numbers. Amazing!

Thats right, it says R&D, that's short for Research and Development, which itself is short for Super Awesome Engineer of Awesomeness.
